  • Being from Geographics expected more. Most birds were drawings, I wanted real photos
  • This book has great photos and information but what the heck… It’s missing birds!!! Where are the bald eagles?! Literally the bird of North America and not featured in the book?? I got this book after seeing bald eagles in my back yard and deciding to keep track of all of the birds we have. Very dissatisfied. Unfortunately I had already marked other birds in this book before noticing the bald eagles were missing, otherwise I would’ve returned it.
  • This guide has accurate pictures of male/female winter/spring coloring that really helps in finding the bird you are actually looking at. We keep this book on the dining table where we do most of our sightings. It has totally helped us improve our knowledge of our avian neighbors.
  • As with any abbreviated bird guide I wish it had a larger selection of species but I found that the 150 species that the authors chose were very appropriate. As an example they have included the Yellow-Billed Cuckoo but only a brief mention of the Black-Billed Cuckoo. Checking with the National Geographic Birds of North America the reason was made clear. The Black-Billed Cuckoo is much less common and declining, therefore much less apt to be seen. The Guide also has very helpful information about feeders, bird houses, bird baths, planting for birds, etc. Overall highly recommended.
  • I really like this . Different than most other birding books I have for backyard viewing. Each bird is presented in detail; covers the varieties of that one bird, detailed in description, pictures and the regions, seasons and migration routes. Pretty awesome fora backyard birding book!! Love it!
  • The pictures are so beautiful and everything is very easy to understand. I ordered these 2 books for my Daughter and Granddaughter who love feeding birds. They were thrilled with the books and I will now order one for myself. Thank you for such great books.
  • Easy to use. Able to find the regular visitors to my yard. Wonderful way to identify the migrating birds as well.
  • I love this book! I have several bird books, but it’s so difficult to find a particular bird quickly when I see a new one in the yard. The pictures, particularly on the inside back cover, make it very easy to locate the bird you are looking for. I purchased one of these used for myself and liked it so much, I bought a new copy for my mother who also enjoys bird watching in her back yard.
  • What a great book, bought as a birthday present and I can’t believe how often it comes out. Even the kids reach for it when we see a new bird
  • Hoping to identify the dozens of new birds in our area.
  • Book is laid out well, pictures are very helpful.
Recomendo.
  • Nice book has all the info I wanted
