“Filled with information, activities, skills, and insights for kids, this book puts some fun into coping with the struggles that accompany ADHD. I will be recommending this book to parents and kids who are trying to overcome the obstacles of ADHD.”―Dr. Robert Leahy, Author of The Worry Cure“Kids with ADHD, along with their parents, teachers, and counselors, will find much to like and learn from in this valuable (and fun!) book filled with practical information, games, and exercises. Among its best features: accessible tools for self-understanding, helping kids to see themselves in a new, positive light―along with ways to work on making their lives easier and more rewarding. The “strengths-based,” uplifting approach builds on solid research that not only counteracts the stigma of “having a problem” but also shows a clear path forward.”―Daniel Keating, Author of Born Anxious: The Lifelong Impact of Early Life Adversity―and How to Break the Cycle, and Professor of Psychology, University of Michigan“As a learning disability specialist, I have seen dozens of books on the topic of ADHD, but I now have found the one that I know myself and my team of experts will all use. I highly recommend this book to educators, parents, grandparents, and especially to the kids! It’s time to thrive with ADHD!”―Farryl Dickter, MA, CCC-SLP, ET/P, Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist & Professional Educational Therapist“This book is a great resource for children with ADHD and their families. It is accessible, educational, and includes many thought-provoking activities that can help kids succeed and feel more confident. I appreciate the humor, personal perspective, and the strength-based approach of this workbook. I will be recommending it to families!”―Joshua Mandelberg, MD, Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician“It took me two decades to learn how to turn the challenge of my childhood ADHD into my greatest strength. Through engaging games and powerful mindfulness practices, Kelli helps children learn self-regulation while having fun. Children learn both to view their condition in a positive light as well as effective organizational skills. I only wish your workbook was available when I was a child.”―Pejman Katiraei, DO, Fellow of the American Board of Pediatrics and Founder of Wholistic Kids and Families“I always advise starting treatment with behavioral interventions. Some parents struggle to find the right book to help them develop a behavioral parenting plan, but now they have the perfect book! Thriving with ADHD makes the concepts clear, makes planning easy and fun, and is a great starting point for any parent working on a behavioral approach to helping their child.”―Keith Seibert, MD Pediatrician“A must for any child in your life facing an ADHD diagnosis. The activities in this book are essential for any parent, therapist, or educator interested in helping children learn skills to help them thrive with ADHD.”―Katherine Woodward Thomas, NY Times Bestselling Author of Conscious Uncoupling: 5 Steps to Living Happily Even After“Kelli transforms the ever-dreaded diagnosis of ADHD into a “glass half-full” rather than a “glass half-empty” experience by demonstrating the positive aspects of the condition. She teaches 60 self-help activities, easily applicable in all areas of a child’s life. Kelli brings a wealth of personal and professional experience to the table with a friendly and readable style. Thank you, Kelli, for providing this much-needed toolbox for kids!”―Debra Mandel, Ph.D., Psychologist, Author, and TV/Radio Personality”Thriving with ADHD is a resource that I will be recommending to my patients and their families. Miller adroitly manages to combine compassion, creativity, and ingenuity in her writing while keeping the exercises fun and engaging for her real audience―kids with ADHD. This resource will go a long way in encouraging the uniqueness of every child and fostering confidence in overcoming the challenges that ADHD can pose.”―Sari Shepphird, PhD, Psychologist and Award-winning Author About the Author Kelli Miller, LCSW, MSW is a psychotherapist, radio host, and author. • I got this book for my daughter to use as a tool for her ADHD/ADD and Anxiety combined, particularly in school where she has the most issues. I must say it is beautifully illustrated, written and published. The language is easy to understand and my 5th grader had no problem navigating the book by herself. This is about the 3rd workbook I brought of the 100s I researched and it has by far been the best. I love the positive and empowering tone of the book. The activities engage the child, builds understanding, skills, self awareness and consciousness. I left in on kitchen counter and by the time I went to tell my daughter about it she had already picked it up, looked through it and was looking forward to working on it. We have done some pages together but she is able to self guide and direct herself. If she is in school and struggling she finds the section related to her current issue and either completes the pages or reviews them. It has helped her focus better just in that she wants to get her class work done so that she can use the free time to work on the Workbook. She has already asked for a second one to refill once she complete this one. To be honest as an adult the struggle with ADHD/ADD combined I almost want to get a copy for myself. I would recommend this book to anyone that ha a child with ADHD or ADD, especially if that child is struggling with the self image from it. This book will definitely empower them.
  • Ignore Crystal Selph review. You could easily do this book with a five year old. Ages seven or eight could probably do this on their own. This book is a crystal explanation of ADHD and is full of esteem-building and coping activities. I am going out on a limb here but I think it is almost a crime NOT to get this into the hands of any ADHD child. Well, at least, it would be a crying shame.
  • *Update*We finished this book in just a few days! She could not put it down, we loved it!I was a little concerned that it was too advanced for my child when we first started it. Some of the paragraphs are lengthy and its hard enough to hold an ADHD child’s attention. But I was wrong. While she may skim through a longer paragraph here and there, I remind her it’s important to get all the information so we can better understand. She hesitates then goes back and reads it or allows me to read it aloud. She is really benefiting from this book! She looks forward to doing it every night in her bed with me. And its not too advanced for her. (She is 8.) We are flying through it! Its really that interesting to her.
  • This workbook is amazing, I never leave reviews. I have a 10 year old son with adhd who loves Garfield. Every night he looks forward to bedtime when we go over a couple of pages of this together; he says he loves it more than reading Garfield. I can see it boosting his self esteem and helping him feel more “normal” considering he feels very different. I’m so grateful to the author. Thank you.
  • There is a reason that this book is a best seller. My son’s therapist also started noticing a difference in his behavior and I told her about this book. She wrote down the details and is adding it to her recommendation list for other clients. My son has combination ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Before he turned 4, he was a happy, confident, energetic boy. Then he went to preschool and everything fell apart. He constantly got into trouble. I was called multiple times every week to pick him up early. He ended having to leave three different schools in one year because they couldn’t “meet his needs.” My loving affectionate outgoing boy retreated into himself. He became extremely scared to do anything new and to express himself in any way. When asked what he would like to do or eat or how he felt, he constantly said “I don’t know.” He was told over and over again by the teachers at these schools that the way he existed in this world was unacceptable so he didn’t know what to do. From age 5 until age 9, I haven’t been able to help him get back to the sweet boy he used to be. We homeschooled for the first two years until age 7, and then I started to realize that there was something going on. It took me two years of pushing and pushing with doctors to finally get into the right places and we finally got the three diagnoses that made sense. Within two months of getting this book and started therapy for anxiety, my son is 70% back to his confident, happy self. We still have a hard journey ahead of us, but at least we are on the right path–and its been a long time coming. I cannot thank the author of this book enough. You helped my son understand that its ok for him to be different–and actually, its pretty awesome to be him. We worked on this book together first thing for homeschool every day. He looked forward to this book with great enthusiasm. When it was time to visit his counselor, he almost always wanted to show her something we had done in this book. It was a beautiful thing to see.
  • This book is amazing! I skipped much of the first chapter. My daughter and I enjoyed doing the second chapter together.(she’s 8) It really boosted her self esteem and brought the two of us closer. She really understands herself more and has more confidence in her abilities.
  • I can’t comment on the author’s content because it was not possible to read this book – the print quality is just awful. Black streaks all over multiple pages and there were many other quality and printing issues. This book is in no condition to be sold!
  • The book is great for parents however as a professional, I needed a book to work with students and there are no reprintables.
  • This work is fantastic and a breath of fresh air. This book is all about helping your ADHD (inattentive or hyperactive) realise just how amazing they are. It provides work to help them realise their abilities and to help them with strategies to deal with their day to day life. It shows them to regulate emotions coping skills etc. Brilliant
  • I bought this book for my ten year old as an introduction to him – that we think he could be adhd. The way this book explains what it is and the fact that you can still thrive if you have adhd traits – it’s outstanding.I wasn’t sure if my son would be interested in reading it (let alone do the tasks), day 3 and he’s chosen this again for his read before bed. He’s doing the activities too.The activities are fab in that they prepare the children for things that could crop up in day to day life. It gives them the building blocks to deal with things in a calm and more considered manner.I’m much more at ease should we get a diagnosis of adhd because of this book.Thank you to the writers.
  • A fantastic book for any ADHD’er and their parents / carers. Definitely a worthwhile buy.
  • Value for money but my daughter just wouldn’t read it even though I think it would have been rewarding for her. Such a shame!
  • Very good
