  • I just paid yet another $30 to be able to do my job. I’m not at one of those schools with “funds” for “extras” like “style manuals” that might “let a person do a major portion of their job.” The APA updates these every few years, and the rest of the APA-style world has to stop what it’s doing and learn a new system. Some of these changes are for good reason, like avoiding reductive language. Others seem motivated by such minor concerns that one wonders how desperately the APA needs a bit of extra funding this year. Oh, I should bold my figure names now? Amazing!Overall, this is the 21st century. Computers exist. The APA is not supposed to be for-profit. How about making the PDF free to download and the hardcopy $15 on print-by-demand? Even better, I’d pay $5 for a PDF that could be updated electronically with higlighted changes the next time the APA decides to make a small but critical chunk of tens of thousands of scholars’ skill sets obsolete.
  • Let’s face it when you want to spend money on a book, it should be pleasurable. However, in the case of graduate school, this APA bible is not only a necessary evil, it is a must. So glad I’m almost done. Write on my friends.
  • I do love the practicality of it being spiral-bound. Yet, as another user mentioned before, the pages are extremely fragile. I’m attaching a picture showing how the very first page was already torn when I got it. I’ll have to take some special measures to protect the book. Other than that, it is a beautiful edition.
  • I have used several editions of the APA Manual, but this latest version is very user-friendly and includes examples right inside the front and back covers which is so convenient. I will use this manual not only for myself, but for my students as I teach online research courses.
  • The product is fine…..my annoyance is going back to the one space (two spaces is so much more aesthetically pleasing) and having all citations be Author et al. in the body of the paper when there are more than 2 authors. I basically have to now be strategic and have only 2 authors or be the first author if I want my name in the body of the paper. Annoying for early career faculty.
  • I never thought I’d find myself writing a review of the APA manual, but here it is.My last copy of the APA manual is destroyed, with pages falling out and tabs to easily access the quick things I need while writing nursing school papers.This edition is put together well with tabs to easily find what you need. The paper quality is very good, so hopefully I won’t end up with pages falling out in 3 years.
  • I purchased this book due to the spiral binding. I previously has a regular soft copy of the 6th edition and it began to fall apart within the first month of using it. The spiral version of this book seems as if it will hold up well with normal to heavy usage. Sections are also tabbed which is an extremely useful feature.
  • Nice 7th Edition APA Manual. A bit different than the 6th Edition, but I am adjusting. The 7th Edition is a “must have” for students of writers using APA
  • The content of the book looks great. I really like the idea of the tabs for different sections and having it spinebound seemed better for flicking through like a reference book. However, the pages are like tissue paper they are so thin!!! This will absolutely not last and the pages are definitely going to tear off the spine. I’m really disappointed by the quality. I will be returning and buying the paper back version. Here’s hoping it’s of sounder structure.
  • I live and die by this manual. It is exactly what it says it is. I love the spiral and tabs.
  • The spiral-bound version makes it really easy to browse the manual and find exactly what you’re looking for. The colours are also a nice touch. All the guidelines are straightforward, and it’s great to have a consistent format to follow in all papers.
  • Far exceeded expectations . I just needed a comprehensive guide for APA referencing. This goes above and beyond and anyone embarking on a degree will benefit from having a copy. Additional guidance on unbiased language and concise writing has proven really useful. This book leaves no stone unturned, even explains how to reference notes from your uni lectures and seminars without the need to find the original reference material used in the presentation.
  • Great manual for APA. I am a copyeditor with 20 years’ experience and this has to be one of the best laid out manuals I’ve ever used.
