Okay, I love Colleen Hoover. I love most of her books (let’s just leave Ugly Love out of this), and she is such an amazing author. So trust me when I tell you, this two-star rating is even shocking me.The part of the novel I adored was the inclusion of the paintings. They were absolutely beautiful, and made me want to reach out my own hand and touch them – I feel you Auburn!The beginning is incredibly promising. I was struck by it. I felt very connected to Auburn from the beginning to the end. I also felt very connected to Owen. But, somewhere along the way, and it is ever so subtle, because I didn’t even realize it until the end, the story takes some kind of a turn. The “love story” takes a backseat, and a lot of unnecessary drama takes the steering wheel. I kept wanting more time with Auburn and Owen. I wanted to get to know them better. Truth be told, in Hoover’s magical ways, with the little time you get with them, you still feel them. You feel them as separate characters, and you feel their connection. But, that dwindles throughout the book, and that left me feeling really empty. It made me feel like I lost something.I also have to agree with a few other fellow reviewers who said that the ending was not satisfying. It is not because there is a cliffhanger, or that it is terribly upsetting, it is just empty. After going through such a roller coaster, you are left with a moment that is anticlimactic. It is a slow and torturous buildup, and given that you do not have much time with these characters, I wanted the end to give me more than what it gave.Another thing, how beautiful is it that these confessions are told? I LOVED the idea, but again, it takes up the beginning of the book, maybe more like the first half, and then we lose them. Which is unfortunate. I think if you search in between the lines, you can see that the confessions have taken on various other forms. But I wanted more of what carried me through the first half of the book.So, here is my take. The story starts out strong, filled with feels, beautiful ideas and paintings. Then, the story transforms into something different, and unfortunately, does not end the way it started. So, I think it is an acquired taste. It’s a beautiful story, just not satisfying. So, I wouldn’t not-recommend (please bear with my double negative), but I would say read at your own risk.

I was so excited for the first 20% of the book — I thought, oooh, this is going to be a good one. I liked the heroine, who was courageous, principled, clever and had a sense of humor. I liked the chemistry between Auburn and Owen. And then it all fell apart. All the sudden they were ridiculously in love after only hours together — WAY too rushed — as if CH needed them to be in love already for the rest of the story to make sense but did not want to put in the work to write that into being. Then our strong female protag turns into a weak, witless, doormat, making bad decision after bad decision. I could not even finish it … tossed it down in disgust at 85%. One last little nitpick … it was a nice touch to include Owen’s art, but the actual artist signed the work and the names do not match. Why even include it then?

This is the second book I’ve read by Colleen Hoover and much like November 9, this is an emotionally charged book with twists at every corner.The main characters Auburn and Owen are two people you connect with from the start. They’re both dealing with traumatic losses from their pasts. For Auburn, it’s the death of her boyfriend, and for Owen, he’s struggling with the death of his mother and brother.From the start, their budding relationship is plagued by problems. There’s Owen’s relationship with his father, who is dealing with personal problems. Then there’s Trey, a jealous guy who stalks Auburn and Owen, trying everything he can to tear them apart.You can feel the raw emotions Auburn and Owen go through as they deal with being kept apart, and finding the strength to overcome the obstacles of their past. I loved seeing their growth throughout the novel as they finally gain the courage to stand up for themselves.As with the other Colleen Hoover book I read, Confess is filled with a few twists that were surprising, and added more intrigue to the novel.Aside from the story, another nice touch is the beautiful artwork featured in the book; I thought it was fitting since Owen was an art dealer.After reading this novel, I’ve officially become a member of the Colleen Hoover fan club and can’t wait to read more of her books.

Despite this connection, the two of them are still hiding secrets, which they refer to as “confessions.” Will these confessions be the end of their fledgling relationship or could this end up turning into something epic? Y’all this book had me S C R E A M I N G. Watching Auburn’s character development was like how I felt when Purl started choosing me to hang out with. It was wonderful. I loved how Owen and Auburn were given similarities in common, rather than just “desperate girl, desperate boy,” that I sometimes see out of romances. I hated it at first but I ended up absolutely loving it.

with that being said, i did find most of this book hard to get through and kind of boring. i didn’t agree with some of auburn’s choices, but i also think it depicts aspects of motherhood well.the ending was perfect and so beautiful that it made up for the uneventful first part of the book.if you’re looking for a hot and steamy romance book, this is NOT IT. but if you’re looking for a written in the stars, beautiful type of love story, it’s exactly that. colleen’s mind amazes me.

How have I not read this already? I’ve read most of Colleen’s books and I now I need to make sure I read the ones I haven’t. -So I found out I can watch the series on this book on amazon prime so I needed to read this first before I watch the series and got though this so quickly. ..I love Colleen writing it’s so easy to read, I loved the characters Auburn and Owen immediately and how guilt shapes each character that gets you right in the heart. The confess plot was clever and I loved the concept of the interpretation on “confessions” it’s a must read. ..A bonus as Owen is an artist there is images of his art in this book

It’s been sat on my bookshelf for over 2 years but it somehow never quite made the cut when it came to me choosing my next book. Thankfully, the book being made into a TV series kicked me into gear and I finally picked it up, and then couldn’t put it down until I had read the entire thing!This story was unique and beautiful and featured two characters who I immediately connected with. Sure there were some parts of the story that I guessed at (as we all do with most romance novels), but there were other parts that I just didn’t see coming and that flawed me. The romance is so much deeper then even I was expecting and there is a strong sacrifice theme running through it too which made it the perfect amount of emotional for me.”I’m scared I’ll never feel this again with anyone else,” I whisper.He squeezes my hands. “I’m scared you will.”One reason why I love CoHo books is that they are not filled with drama just for dramas sake, everything that is in there needs to be in there. The entire story line had me gripped and once I (finally!) picked this book up I didn’t put it down again until I had finished it. CoHo has this incredible ability to spoon feed us just enough information through out the book that keeps us on the edge of our seats the entire time and when I got to the end of the book and everything was revealed I was stunned to silence.This book is unique due to it’s connection with the art that is both written into it but also featured in the book itself. Danny O’Connor’s art work is beautiful in itself, but when combined with the confessions featured in the book it becomes so much more powerful.One cool thing about this book is that all of the confessions in it came from real people, who anonymously sent them into Colleen. There are some confessions which made my heart hurt, some which made me cry, others which made me smile. But knowing that they had all come from real life people just made their messages so much more powerful than is CoHo had made them up herself.”I’ll love you forever. I am a massive fan of Colleen Hoover’s and I had this book on pre-order. Due to my TBR being huge and having some bookish commitments it’s taken me a little longer than I would’ve like to get round to reading this but I can 110% say that it was worth the wait. Sit back and prepare yourself for some wonderful, classic Colleen Hoover.The story is all about Auburn Reed and artist Owen Gentry. The pair meets as if by chance when Auburn finds herself in need of a job and Owen needs a last minute art gallery assistant. After an emotional prologue, the very beginning of the story is so great. It introduces you to Owen’s art straight away and the whole concept behind “Confess”. And it’s such a clever concept! I won’t say much more about it because it’s so great to read about but wow Colleen, 10/10!Auburn has gone through a lot for her young age and although it is alluded to in the prologue the magnitude of her situation isn’t unveiled until much later in the story, by which time I was so swept up in the chemistry between Owen and Auburn I completely never seen it coming! If anything it makes you appreciate Auburn’s character even more and helps to understand her actions a bit more. The trouble isn’t over for her and the book is a whole rollercoaster of emotions and feelings of regret for the life she’s missing out on and self-sacrifice in order to please other people. It’s a tough read but I just couldn’t put it down.Owen is quite a complicated character, particularly in Auburn’s eyes as the secrets just keep on coming. Fortunately the story is told in dual POV so you know a little bit more than Auburn and when everything is revealed you just fall in love with him a little bit more. Owen ties the whole story together more than you know throughout and I absolutely LOVED his tie to Auburn.I really love the cover of this book and after reading it I have a whole new appreciation for it! There is always something more with Colleen’s books whether it’s poetry, music or in this case art. I love that it adds a whole new sensory level to the book and that really sets them apart from the crowd.I have loved everything I’ve read by Colleen and I’ve even re-read a couple of her books more than once. Confess was such a compelling story that I am sure I will be re-reading it just to be back with Owen and Auburn.

I’ve read a few of Colleen hoovers book and she is an excellent writer but she simply fails with this story. The story line was extremely boring and not engaging. The characters completely not Relatable. It was a task to Finish the book. The word bland comes to mind it just didn’t work. I recommend not reading or wasting your time you will be left with a sour taste in your mouth. The book was completely vanilla and the pictures provided in the book well there really was no need for them.
