  • Awesome little dictionary. Aside from the obvious definitions in it, the book has the constitution, as well as all the amendments in their entirety. Also the most important cases and their law changing outcomes. It also shows the break down of the judicial system and the workings of different municipalities. It’s worth having for sure.
  • Plan to use this law dictionary with paralegal courses this year.It is a valuable reference tool, especially for research or writing classes that will need the user to “speak the language of the law” as it were.Most likely better than lugging Black’s Law Dictionary around, but I have that as well, and will probably be a bookshelf reference.Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary of Law is a good addition to the paralegal or law students backpack and textbooks for school, and future practice.
  • I’ve never tried Black’s version so I can’t compare, but this book has everything that I need for school. Important cases, summery of the amendments, etc.
  • It’s about as good as it gets next to or aligned with Black’s Law Dictionary.
  • Great deal compared to blacks, but to be honest a legal dictionary is pretty unnecessary even in law school. You will NOT use this in practice as a lawyer by the way. In practice you will cite blacks maybe once a year. I bought this for my cousin who was starting law school because it was required.
  • I keep this as a supplement to my Black’s dictionary so I don’t have to lug the other one to my classes. This provides most of the definitions I need, although it doesn’t have the more obscure words.
  • Great law dict, recommend to law students. Arrived liked lightly used condition.
  • I recently went back to college and I’m taking a legal vocab class. This book is good however… I wish there were more Latin phrases in it.
  • This is still a great dictionary but as a first year student and out of school for 10+ years it’s a little bit harder to understand somethings.I’m still giving a higher amount of stars because this will more than likely be more useful once my understanding of everything is better 🙂
