  • I wanted a book that dealt with manipulation in a “how-to” manner. As a Correctional Officer, I have written several essays on human manipulation; that’s all part of the job. This book has some valid points, but aside from the first page, it’s nothing but useless drivel. A lot of the content was completely incorrect, examples used were ridiculous. I hope that prisons add this book to their libraries, but the best conmen will see right through the junk strategy and tactics outlined in this waste of toilet paper.

  • A really excellent book on manipulation. I liked the author’s systematic approach: the division of the manipulation techniques into “3 boxes of dirty manipulation tricks” cognitive biases, verbal tricks and bogus arguments maks it easy for me as a reader to literally fly through the book, understandably and with many “aha effects”!! I didn’t know many of the techniques like attentional bias or the Cum Hoc Fallacy and so on… and for sure, one of the many highlights of the book is of course his explanation of the “moral stages of manipulation – first time hearing about that!! All in all, a clear recommendation from me!

  • I like the books of Wladislaw Jachtchenko. I have already read his book “Weisse Rhetorik” (in German) and was looking forward to get to know the “dark side of communication”. My expectations were met 100%: great manipulation techniques, super easy to read – and all science-based. The good thing is that the author not only presents the technique, but also explains how to parry the manipulation. A MUST READ for anyone who doesn’t want to be manipulated again …
  • I was lucky to get to know Wlad and i honestly can say: He is a genius when it comes to communication and arguing. I’m happy he now published his knowledge in english so all of my international friend are able to process their communication. In my eyes this is a standard work for everybody, because you should know what you do and what others do: as Wazlawick said “You can’t not communicate”
