Book is extremely outdated. Pictures are confusing at times. For example: 2 different pictures that say pic 1 is clear trichomes while pic 2 is milky. They look exactly the same though.In all honesty, if the internet didn’t exist, this book would be a God’s gift. Since we do have the power of the internet, this book is extremely obsolete. Not worth the time and money. I read it cover to cover in hopes of getting lucky and finding something out that I don’t already know from the web.
I bought this book thinking the 4.5 star rating was indicative of its quality, but I was very wrong. This book is very poorly laid out, even if you just want to use it as a quick reference for what to do in a specific stage of the growing cycle, because the sections of the book are not actually indicative of what the section contains.Not only in the information laid out poorly, but it is not backed up in any meaningful way. There is a total lack of information regarding why certain choices can be made, and again when it does provide multiple options it does not do into any detail explaining why one might make a different decision. There is no “horticulture” information in this book as far as I can tell, all of the methods described are anecdotal and not scientific.Calling this a “grower’s bible” is very far from what you’re actually getting with this book. In my eyes this book is only useful as a very simple, low level, unscientific guide to growing some weed in kind of a roughly anecdotal method.There is more attention focused on how to run illegal crops than any of the actual important horticulture elements of growing. The title is a lie.This book is really an embarrassment overall. I’m sad I bought this, as it provides next to nothing even for the most beginner of growers.
Although it has a lot of information, it is not organized well. Chapter 3 is supposed to be about the vegetative growth stage, but it talks about cloning instead, which I feel is advanced and should have it’s own chapter in the back. There is some unnecessary information in the beginning and does not explain well about nutrient problems how to fix them and what they look like It does not have enough information about watering schedules, like when to use and not to use fertilizers how to mix liquid fertilizers, or when to use pure water. I did find information that was better than online but not an easy read. Not a good book for beginners.

I purchased this as a gift and had the chance to look through it prior to the actual gifting. This review also comes from the feedback I received from my friend.This is a very thorough book on the topic of marijuana growing. This covers the full spectrum of growing set ups, from small space to commercial size outdoor operations. This is pure, raw knowledge that contains a multitude of graphs and data to help you determine your needs, and what results you could get.This book I would compare to a textbook. It has more than enough information and presented in a very plain, informational way. There are certainly other books that can cover growing in a much more simple, how-to guide style, cutting out a lot of what some would consider unnecessary information. If you are the type that loves curling up with some non-fiction, informational text, this is it.
This is my first book that has anything to do with cannabis, and it is perfect…Extremely detailed to the T…The author is on point with it. You can’t go wrong with this book! Money well spent.
Finally, a grow book with information on outdoor planting/grow.I purchased this book for the Kindle. My only wish was for the book to be indexed. It wasn’t. To get around this, I went through each chapter and bookmarked it along the way. Once completed, I can then select the book marks and the various chapters marked are now available to me.PROS: Thoroughness of content, pictures,CONS: Kindle version is not indexed (at the time of this review)
There will always be someone who has more information, or a different perspective. This book should be used as a guideline to help you learn and understand, but not to learn how to do things. Knowledge comes from doing, not from reading. Different strains will react to different influences. Are you growing indoor or outdoor? MH/HPS or LED or COB? What nutrients are you using (if you’re using)? Are you using CO2? And so on and so on… Having said that, this book is a great companion piece for easy reference.
This is the first thing which should be on the list of any would-be grower. Numero Uno. It is such a valuable resource, which you will refer to again and again. The way it is laid out, with each chapter dedicated to each aspect of growing, the great photos and diagrams, the way Jorge explains his craft in a way which is accessible to novice and intermediate growers alike makes this one of the best twenty quid purchases you can make. Supplement the content here with lots of YouTube watching and you’re onto a winner.
I use Cannabis for Cronic Nerve pain that prescription Medication can’t relieve, So I bought this, my very first book on all to do with Cannabis growing, medicinal benefits etc, etc. This book is fantastic and very easy to understand just how all the various methods of growing, the equipment & all the different feeds you’ll ever need to help you well on your way to producing yourself some of the finest ( Painkilling Bud ) you’ll ever want or need. So if you want a book to cover everything you need to know and is so simple easy to understand and whatever experience you have or like in my case didn’t have, but with the information and advice from someone who knows what he’s talking about, just have a look at just how many books that this guy has written on Cannabis and you’ll see exactly what I mean. So anyway, this book, if you want an easy to follow & easily understandable book that gives you all of the information needed, whether your a beginner like myself or an experienced grower, this book has it all covered, so don’t bother wasting your time looking for something better, because in my opinion your not going to find it. So in a nutshell, this book is extremely great value for your money. The only thing left to say is a very big thank you to “Jorge Cervantes” for passing on his knowledge & experience on everything to do with the “Magical Herb” .
What this book does not cover you definitely don’t need to know.All aspects covered in detail with a knowledge that only a lifetime of cultivation could provide.I would recommend anyone either as a new or experienced grower to invest in this book.Very good value. Thank you.
Great book on the basics of Marijuana Horticulture.Shows grow room set ups, hash making, flushing etcUseful and correct information that you know is safe to follow.Jorge Cervantes is a well known Canadian Cannabis grower, excellent book especially for beginners and people who would like a resource to check processes (ie how long to stir the trim for bubble hash etc).
Great referance book! Invaluable guidance for my first steps on the journey. Full of useful photos, loads of info and resources for further enquiry. I only used it for my particulair needs, however there is a wealth of info here addressing various stratagies to reach the same end, a healthy harvest. Worth the investment for your library.
