  • This is a lovely, thoughtfully tender book for any child about to begin Kindergarten. As we all know, it can be for many children incredibly daunting and scary starting ‘big’ school. Leaving pre-school/daycare behind. Your old friends behind. And for some… even Mom and Dad for the first time! Everyone is can appear as a stranger to a young child starting school and that must feel terrifying!Luckily this book handles your parental concerns well. This book carefully with cute and colorful characters tells a story they’ll be able read with you or all by themselves expressing to not fear the unknown but rather embrace the adventure they’re about to begin. My Son enjoyed reading this and I know your children will enjoy this lovingly crafted children’s book. It appears Sonica Ellis’ many books definitely have the niche and the ‘knack’ that widely covers a much needed sympathetic eye and understanding to a child’s perspective in a modern time surely needing it.
  • Although it did touch on a little kindergarten, the over all story line we got out of it was reflecting on saying bye to the preschool experience. My New Kindergartner loves the book and even spent the next few days quoting/relating some of her own preschool experiences. I just thought it would have a little more about what to expect in kindergarten. Would definitely recommend as part of the process for getting your kindergartner ready.

  • This book does a good job of building up the negative emotions before identifying with the positive parts. Reading it the night before starting kindergarten kind of made my kindergartener think of things that had not previously been a worry. I don’t know that I would recommend this book for the night before kindergarten, but it might be fine for the last day of preschool.
  • Such a sweet read for preschool graduates. Littles moving to Kindergarten will love the rhyming text and feel connected to the main character. This book will build their confidence before the new school year starts and will also make a great refresher during the months ahead.
  • I recently purchased this book to give to our daughter’s pre-school because all of her friends are starting kindergarten this year. I will purchase another one for her next year. It is well written.
