This workbook is set up beautifully. I really needed spelling curriculum spelled out for me. Pun intended. I’m using this as a supplement to Logic of English and All About Spelling with my 6 and 7 year olds.The reason I docked a star is each unit only has 2 spreads and there are only 22 units. That’s not a school year’s worth and doesn’t offer as much practice as I’d like to see.Other than that, it’s perfect for what I was looking for. Check out my pictures of unit 1.
Has distance learning made you feel like you’ve run out of ideas for educational activities for your little one? My daughter is a rising 2nd grader and this workbook is perfect to continue her at home learning during the summer.
During this quarantine I have really struggled with educational material for my 4 year old. This book is more advanced for her but the title site words grabbed my attention. Even though she can not independently work on the book we have been practicing and using site words and it has been great. Also my daughter really enjoys being able to color a lot of the pages. I’d highly recommend for the age group the suggest (6-8). If you are like me with a very eager preschooler… it’s a great start introducing site words!
This book is great!Girly without being obnoxious. The pictures are cute and simple. Wonderful addition to our homeschool day as my daughter can complete the pages independently (after we went over the first few units together). The repetition of the activities works well for my daughter as she then knows what to do and how to do it, just using different words.I didn’t do 5 stars, since I agree with a few other reviews that there isn’t enough practice for each unit AND there are not enough units in the book.BUT overall, this book is great!I also ordered more workbooks from the Modern Kid line and am hopeful they will be a hit with my girl!
My daughter loves doing spelling practice in this book! Something about the pictures an graphics, though simple black and white print, really appeals to her. If I told her to copy 10 spelling/ sight words on lined paper, she might crab a bit. Suddenly, with a mermaid framing the page, or clouds or flowers to copy words on to, she’s all into it and wants to work ahead! Great for Kindergarten or first grade when the children may read these words easily, but commonly misspell them in their own writing.
We (kids & I) LOVE THIS workbook! I have my 5 year old, following along with my 7 year old. They taken to filling it out, then using it as a coloring book! Also easy enough for them to work on it unattended, which allows me to work! 🙌🏻

I was really looking forward to this book, but when it arrived I flipped through it and these words were way too easy. I will say that the activities and art style of the book are very well put together and very engaging. I liked the layout so much that I looked to see if they had a higher level book. (I’m sad to say they didn’t.) I would encourage anyone to get this for a loved one or friend that is struggling with spelling. I think other’s would definitely benefit from it. Even though I am returning this book I am still giving it 4 stars.
My daughter enjoyed this book and she was happy to get this out and work though it, but I think the reason for that was because it was not difficult and quite easy for her. She is 6 years old and the book is 6-8, so I was hoping there would be some challenging sections in the book, but she breezed through it.
Thought it was a bit easy for my grand daughter who is six initially but she likes reading it and doing the activities and gives her confidence.
I purchased this for my Junior kindergarten son to help with his writing skills, I wanted something related to sight words (that he’s already learning) but something with different words to practice (spelling). So far it’s going great! We work on half a sheet at a time, as it is definitely geared more towards slightly older kids. I photocopy the sheets to work with, as I also use this to help my 8yr old stepdaughter with her spelling. Multifunctional for sure! Great book overall.
Impressed with the size. And so far my daughter enjoys it even though she gives me a hard time with school work. Definitely will keep her occupied and help her when school is on break. Much rather hands on compared to technology always stuck in her hands
We are homeschooling our 6 year old and this is a must have!!! Definitely recommend for parents. Cheaper than printing worksheets.
